L’installation est constituée d’un projecteur à diapositives qui diffuse l’image de sa propre lampe. Dans l’appareil, la lampe a effectivement été déplacée pour se retrouver sur le point focal, c’est à dire à la place occupée habituellement par la diapositive. Malgré la simplicité du procédé, la nature de l’image crée est relativement trouble, principalement dû au fait qu’elle n’a pas de support de reproduction, qu’il soit numérique ou analogique.

Ainsi l’image ne subit d’autre altération que celle des lentilles optiques ou de l’air ambiant. la «résolution» est ainsi extrêmement précise et l’on peut observer tous les détails dans les reflets du verre de l’ampoule ou dans le rougeoiement du filament. Cette précision vient se conjuguer avec une temporalité particulière, puisque même si l’image est fixe, nous sommes devant quelque chose qui est en train de se dérouler. les composantes traditionnelles de l’objet filmique se retrouvent ainsi en interaction les unes les autres pour développer leur propres capacités narratives.

The installation is made up of a slide projector which broadcasts the image of its own lamp. In the machine, the lamp has in fact been moved and is at the focal point, i.e. in the place usually occupied by the slide. Despite the simplicity of the procedure, the nature of the image created is relatively blurred, mainly due to the fact that has no medium of reproduction, be it digital

or analog. So the image undergoes no alteration other than that created by optical lenses and the ambient air. The “resolution” is accordingly extremely precise and you can see all the details in the reflections of the bulb’s glass and in the reddish glow of the filament. This pre- cision goes hand in hand with a particular time-frame, because even if the image is static, we are in front of something that is in the process of happening. The traditional components of the film object thus interact with each other to develop their own narrative capacities.
